A contemporary work resonates with mine

Inaugurated in 2009, this place is both a public and a work of art from a cultural project developed with the participation of the inhabitants. 175 000 blocks of blue stone of Hainaut were assembled to sculpt this work of Carmen Perrin. Bordered by the Relief Society Mining, the place welcomes two tables blue stone bearing the names of cities and heaps. In reference to the pigeon very present in our region, the largest flight serves as a table for pigeons. Blue Grenay is thus a place of re-reading and re-appropriation of the collective memory of the inhabitants.
