This cemetery was built by the Canadian Corps in April 1917.

The tombs of the square roots in one of the men are those of the fourth division, especially the 75th (Mississauga Horse) and 87th (Grenadier Guards of Montreal) battalions, killed April 9, 1917. The last Canadian soldier was buried there in 1947.
2966 Commonwealth soldiers buried there including 693 Canadians. However, 72% of bodies were not identified. The cemetery is located in the Vimy Ridge Memorial. (From the site of memory stone).
