This large suburban city with more than 600 housing was attached to the Pit No. 5 Mines Bethune.

The city has retained several utilities developed by the Company: schools, church, rectory house medical consultation patronage.
Following the destruction of the First World War, the new St. Louis church built in the 1920s in terms of Gustave Umbdenstock, architecture combines Romanesque Revival style, use of reinforced concrete and influential art deco decor. A large garden square enhances the landscape qualities of this exceptional collection of mining habitat.
