If love is a universal feeling, the ways of loving are many and have evolved throughout history. From one era to another, the transformations of the love relationship are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists.
The exhibition proposes to write a story of ways of loving, from original sin to the quest for freedom. This love story evokes, in turn, adoration, passion, gallantry, libertinage or even romanticism. It shows how, starting from a stigmatization of the feminine, each epoch successively rehabilitated the woman, the love, the relation, the pleasure and the feeling, to arrive at the invention of the free love.

Made sensitive through an anthology of some 250 works of art, intersecting techniques and civilizations, this story does not claim to be exhaustive but privileges an author's point of view. Each of the seven chapters highlights a major turning point in the history of the relationship.Throughout this story punctuated by literary quotes and excerpts of films, the exhibition reveals masterpieces of ancient statuary, precious objects of the Middle Ages, paintings of Memling, Fragonard, Delacroix, or even sculptures by Rodin, Claudel and Niki de Saint Phalle.
