Associated with pit 11/19, this mining community has nearly 600 homes owned by an exceptional collection that reflects the power of the Mining Company Lens.

Built in 1894, it was destroyed during the First World War and rebuilt and enlarged in the early 1920s. Mining community structured from an orthogonal grid, it is distinguished by the large tracts surrounding houses. Usually grouped by two or three, these homes offer a rich architectural heritage with the variety of models. The center of the city collects green spaces and community amenities. Illustrations mining paternalism, these facilities reinforced the autarkic operation of the city under the control of the Company and were a symbol of his power.
